Walking Tour of Rye - Tuesday 22nd September 2026

This Outing will open for bookings on Wednesday 1st July.

Because this walking tour includes many cobbled streets and narrow alleyways it is not recommended for those with mobility issues.

Depart 9am by coach from Redhill and Reigate to Rye where we expect to arrive by 10.30am for a comfort stop and to purchase refreshments. The coach will drop us off near the railway station, from where we make our way walking to Rye Heritage Centre. We shall re-assemble at 11.30am, divide into three groups each accompanied by a guide, for a 1½ hour walking tour of Rye, which will highlight the more whimsical aspects and features of this interesting town. After the tour there is the opportunity for a  20 minute sound and  light show at the  Heritage Centre Town Model, based on Rye in Image by Melanie Avis from Pixabay Victorian  times. Free time will follow, with time to try one of the many eateries. You may wish to visit Lamb House (NT) once owned by the  writer Henry James, or St Mary’s Church Tower with its view overlooking the town. We will depart at 4.30pm from the same location that we disembarked from the coach.

Cost  £33
