Technologies

The Third Age Trust has produced this one page summary explaining some of the most popular video-conferencing, messaging and simple telephone-conferencing technologies that are freely available to help us keep in touch with each other. Learn how to set up and use Zoom, WhatsApp, Skype, Telegram, and WhyPay? These technologies can be used to contact individual friends or get whole groups together at one time. Many of our u3a activity groups are already using them successfully and now is the ideal opportunity to get to grips with them. Further guidance about how to use these technologies and also other useful IT help such as setting up email accounts and listening to podcasts can be found in these handy step by step guides.

The Trust plans to update these pages with further guides and possibly online training sessions in due course. Subscribe to the National Newsletter to hear about developments as soon as they happen.

Facebook

If you would like to know how to set up a closed Facebook Group this is a simple step-by-step guide.

If you already use Facebook now would be a good time to join our Reigate & Redhill u3a group.

And how about joining a new group called U3A: Keeping in Touch. It is open to all u3a members and was created on 16th March to help all u3a members share ideas, information, things to amuse and generally stay in contact with each other.
