National u3a Day was on the first Wednesday in June in 2021.

Reigate & Redhill aimed to show what happens in our u3a, challenge negative perceptions of older adults and invite other Third Agers in the community to learn about the contribution u3a makes to the quality of life of retired people.

'Volunteering – and so much more!’

The video aims to celebrate the work of volunteers in general and raise awareness of the contribution that u3a makes to the lives of its members.

It is introduced by the Mayor, with stories from volunteers including from u3a members, examples of the activities that u3a members have worked on during the pandemic, and information about u3a.

There were also displays in local libraries showcasing the creative activities of u3a members, information about u3a, photo challenges and lists of books chosen by u3a book groups.
