Poetry Reading

We read and discuss poetry. Meetings generally focus on a particular poet chosen in advance and we take it in turns to read selected poems.
Poets whose poems we've read in the past include W B Yeats, T S Eliot, John Betjeman and Robert Frost as well as more modern poets such as Wendy Cope and Simon Armitage. Poetic themes we've explored in the past have sometimes been seasonal (e.g. poems about Spring or Winter) or have often related to particular aspects of human experience (e.g.Travel or Nature), but we're always open to new ideas.
