Narrative Writing 2

The group encourages all members to explore and create their own, new writing and to share the texts with other members. We usually choose a theme in advance but members sometimes prefer to write something unrelated, and we set a suggested limit of 1000 words, so that there is time for everyone to read out their work. The rest of the group may give feedback in a positive way, to help and stimulate everyone to keep on learning! We usually write narrative texts (rather than poetry) which can be fictional, non-fictional, autobiographical or from a stimulus such as artefacts, particular events etc. We aim to develop our creative skills in a supportive atmosphere whilst having fun too(and, of course, tea and biscuits!). Sometimes we do a simple 10 minute exercise based on a word or a simple theme.
The group meets monthly at someone’s house , although we are small enough to allow each member to contribute, we would also welcome new members who like the sound of what we do.
