This group examines and discusses the historical implications that political, economic, social and religious influences have had in shaping the modern world.

Topics recently researched include the life and times of Catherine the Great, Napoleon’s abortive attempt to invade Russia, Collapse of Central Powers in 1918 and the peace treaties that fashioned the inter-war period.

Future topics include Kruschev’s involvement in the space race and the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Members are invited to share their knowledge and participate in discussions.

The group is currently exercising their minds investigating China's political, economic and social history.
